Raising a Responsible Child

We teach our children how to tie their shoes, read
and write, solve math problems, and understand
science concepts and events in history.

Guiding your child in developing the qualities of
character is as important or even more important.
It is through the guidance and modeling by caring
adults that children learn to be honest and
thoughtful, to stand up for their principles, to care
about others, to act responsibly and to make sound
moral choices.

The qualities of character that I will be writing
about are listed below.  All of these qualities are
universally recognized by people of many religions
 and cultures.

The information that I will be providing can be
used by parents from many different backgrounds
 and with different beliefs.

I will be adding the topics listed, so check back if
they aren't all here at this time.

Nine Qualities of Character

1.  Compassion

2.  Honesty and Fairness

3.  Self-discipline

4.  Good Judgment

5.  Respect for Others

6.  Self-respect

7.  Courage

8.  Responsibility

9.  Citizenship and Patriotism
